About

21 Savage

With a storytelling style that cuts through the noise of modern rap, 21 Savage delivers gritty verses straight from the streets he knows so well. Born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph in London and raised in Atlanta from a young age, Savage's journey into rap began after a life-altering event on his 21st birthday, where he was shot six times. This harrowing experience spurred him to share his perspective through music.

His debut mixtape, "The Slaughter Tape," released in 2015, introduced audiences to his menacing presence and unapologetic lyricism. Collaborations with Sonny Digital and Metro Boomin quickly followed, setting the stage for his rise in the rap scene.

Named in XXL's Freshman Class of 2016, Savage wasted no time proving his worth. Collaborations with Metro Boomin yielded hits like "No Heart" and "X" featuring Future, showcasing his unique vocal delivery over dark, atmospheric beats.

Signing to Epic Records in 2017, Savage released his debut studio album, "Issa Album," further solidifying his place in the industry. Tracks like "Bank Account" and "Close My Eyes" delved into the realities of gang life with raw honesty.

His collaboration with Post Malone on "Rockstar" soared to the top of charts, cementing his status as a mainstream success. Further collaborations with Offset and Metro Boomin, as well as his solo projects like "I Am > I Was," showcased his evolving musicality and continued relevance in the rap scene.

In 2020, Savage reunited with Metro Boomin for "Savage Mode II," garnering attention with tracks like "Mr. Right Now" featuring Drake. His contributions to the soundtrack of "Spiral: From The Book Of Saw" and support for J.Cole on tour further solidified his presence in the industry.

In 2022, his collaboration with Drake on "Her Loss" topped the charts, marking a significant milestone in his career. With ongoing tours and a dedicated fanbase, 21 Savage continues to make his mark as a dominant force in rap music.
