About

Armed with guitars, synths and one unmistakable falsetto, British rock trio Muse have spent three decades expanding the scale of rock music and live performance. The band formed in Teignmouth, Devon in 1994 when lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard came together as Rocket Baby Dolls. Even in those early days their stage presence was magnetic. After winning a local battle of the bands in 1994 they adopted the name Muse and began a steady ascent from club rooms in England to the world stage.

Muse released their debut album Showbiz in 1999 which introduced Bellamy’s dramatic falsetto and a sound that mixed melancholic alternative rock with cinematic ambition. Over the next two decades they expanded their palette, layering orchestral arrangements, church organ textures and synth driven textures into arena sized songs. Albums such as Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations, The Resistance and Drones charted across Europe and beyond and helped establish Muse as a band that could take bold stylistic leaps while still writing stadium anthems. In 2022 they released Will of the People, their ninth studio album, which continued that blend of hard rock, electronic elements and grand, dystopian themes and became another UK number one.

Achievements across studio and stage have been remarkable. Muse have sold tens of millions of albums worldwide and have repeatedly topped charts in the United Kingdom and other territories. They have been recognized with major awards including multiple Brit Awards and two Grammy Awards, and they have collected numerous honours for their live shows, from MTV Europe Music Awards to NME and Ivor Novello recognition for international achievement. Those accolades reflect a rare combination of songwriting ambition and theatrical showmanship.

Live, Muse have turned concerts into spectacle. Their tours have mixed pyrotechnics, massive LED visuals, immersive film projection and high concept staging. The Drones era introduced aerial drones into the live set, and later tours continued to push production boundaries with wearable LED technology, huge video canvases and elaborate lighting rigs designed to make stadiums feel cinematic. The result has been not only a band that sounds big on record but a live act that consistently ranks among the most talked about festival and stadium headliners in the world.

In the UAE Muse left a vivid impression when they performed at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after race concerts in December 2024. Their Etihad Park set combined the band’s signature high energy and futuristic visuals with anthemic songs that played particularly well to a festival sized crowd, and the performance remains a highlight for regional fans.

Muse have continued to create and tour into 2025. In June 2025 they debuted a new single titled Unravelling during the opening night of their European tour, marking their first new music since the 2022 album Will of the People. The band have been active on festival bills and have kept their live show ambitions intact while signalling they are working toward future releases as well. For an up to date artist biography and streaming profile you can also view their official artist page on Spotify which summarizes their career and current monthly listener footprint.

From raw early gigs in Devon to record breaking stadium tours and boundary pushing productions worldwide, Muse remain one of modern rock’s most visionary and enduring bands. They pair technical ambition with a flair for spectacle and continue to attract audiences who want more than a concert, they want an event that feels cinematic, urgent and unapologetically large in scale.
